
Sound Healing
Sound therapy is a deep meditative therapy which uses the power of sound to guide you into a relaxed state, reducing stress and quieting the mind. It promotes a feeling of wellbeing in the body and mind which is why you may also hear it called Sound Meditation.
Who is Sound healing for?
Sound therapy is for anyone wanting to reach a deeply relaxed state, clear energy blocks and improve the flow of Qi (life force energy) in your body. Every session is tailored to your needs and can be held in a one-to-one or group setting.
Sound therapies are generally considered a safe practice however pregnant women are not advised to participate. People with tinnitus or who are experiencing a mental health crisis are advised to consult their doctor prior to receiving a treatment.
What is a typical session like?
Sound meditation and relaxation is a powerful stand alone therapy. Many people like to add a sound element as part of a bespoke package, for instance sound meditation and Reiki or sound meditation and a reflexology session. Therapies can range from 20 minutes to one hour depending on your needs.
There will be time for a chat before the session starts where I will ask a few questions and you can share any health issues, concerns or goals we will be working with in our session.
The person or people taking part in the sound healing are usually laying down or seated if you have any discomfort. You are fully clothed and covered with a blanket and offered a bolster and cushions so that you can be comfortable and warm for the entire session.
You are guided into your mediation with some breathwork and then Tibetan and crystal singing bowls and/or gong are used for your session to bring you in to a deeply relaxed and meditative state, shifting states of awareness and consciousness.
I will gently guide you out of your meditative state towards the end of our session helping you return to your awareness unhurried and with a feeling of wellbeing. There is time at the end to discuss your experience and answer any questions before I leave you.
Often you will feel a great sense of overall wellbeing and a relaxed state of mind. Improved sleep quality, reduced stress, increased energy and a more harmonised feeling overall.
